A chronic inflammation was finding out in recent years to be resulted in cancer, lifestyle-related diseases, a neurodegeneration diseases, autoimmune diseases etc. Using knockout mice, we are exploring the pathogenesis of tumors and autoinflammatory diseases and onset factors.
Relationship between colon cancer onset and intestinal bacteria.
Immunological analysis of autoinflammatory diseases.
Relationship between the function of mucosal sugar chain and infectious disease in developing gastric cancer.
Causes of illness are inherited and acquired. Analysis using genetically modified mice has revealed that genetic abnormality is not directly causing carcinogenesis but causes inflammation. Further research will be aimed at leading to the development of new treatments and preventive methods.
