Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) with Mahidol University, Thailand

Shinshu University School of Medicine (SUSM) and the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University (RAMA) celebrated the successful launch of a virtual exchange program on October 28, 2020. Approximately 20 medical students from the 1st to 5th years participated in this collaborative session and more than 20 faculty and staff members from both universities happily watched their students' presentations and discussions.

This first session started with presentations by the students introducing the two universities. Participants from both countries then gave excellent talks on the topic of "The Learning Experience During the Covid-19 Outbreak". All participants listened attentively to the presentations and both sides learned and became more curious about their partner country, its education system and culture, in addition to exchanging information and asking questions about the measures taken against the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective countries.

Both student groups ended the session promising to continue their collaboration, and SUSM and RAMA will continue to support this initiative.
