21.07.29
Shinshu University School of Medicine and the Institute for Biomedical Sciences held the 2nd online lecture with the University of California, Davis Health, School of Medicine (UC Davis), our partner university from 2018, on July 15, 2021.
Prof. Aiming Yu (Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine), a specialist of microRNA and novel therapies targeting RNA, talked about "MicroRNAs in the control of ADME", and Prof. TANAKA Naoki served as the moderator. Approximately 20 participants of medical students, researchers and professors, including Dr. MORI Masayuki (Department of Aging Biology), Dr. KAWAGISHI Hiroyuki (Department of Molecular Pharmacology), Dr. FUJII Chifumi (Department of Molecular Pathology), Prof. SHIBA Yuji (Department of Regenerative Science and Medicine), Prof. TABUCHI Katsuhiko (Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology), Prof. TAKESHITA Toshikazu (Department of Microbiology and Immunology), and Prof. IZAWA Atsushi (Department of Adult and Geriatric Nursing), were introduced to Prof. Yu's research and discussed actively with him.
This is the second session of three serial lectures and the next lecture is scheduled on August 5th, 2021, and Prof. Yu is going to talk about "Moving microRNAs towards targeted therapy".
Both institutions closed this successful seminar, promising further collaborations.
Shinshu University School of Medicine intends to implement this approach with UC Davis and other partner universities and to offer our students and doctors the opportunities to learn cutting-edge knowledge of biomedical research and clinical medicine.
