It`s well known that molecules confined inside microporous environments can present unusual behaviors compared to their bulk conditions, including the formation of different ordered or crystalline forms. In the present work, the behavior of CO2 confined in micropores Activated Carbon Fibers (ACF) were analyzed and described a brand-new 2D crystalline formation, not described in the literature until now, to our knowledge. The unusual crystal form is attributed to both the pore width of the pore and the quadrupole moment of the CO2.
