Analyzing IgG4-related diseases: We work with with clinical departments to conduct clinicopathological analysis of IgG4-related diseases.?Studying the effectiveness of the left-shifted leukocyte fraction for analysis of bacterial infectionquickly detect infection, diagnose malignancies, and study the effectiveness of prospective anti-cancer drugs.Discovering disease mechanisms that lead to developing therapies for untreatable diseases.Communicating with researchers around the world through international meetings and studying abroad.APs and CPs can actively contribute in a variety of workplaces including university and city hospi-tals, and basic research institutes that take advantage of basic and clinical experts. You can select a workplace that best fits your lifestyle. We facility to promote clinical and translational research strategically in our emergency and critical care center and emergency centers in Nagano Prefecture. We carry out high-quality clinical research on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, cardiogenic shock, acute myocardial in-farction, or renal replacement therapy for sepsis. We will develop the future generation of emergency and critical care physicians and leaders by excellent medical care delivered in a patient-centered, compassionate manner, promoting lifelong, independent learning skills and increasing knowledge through research.Member of Emergency and Critical CenterStaff with a exchange student from Indo-nesiaFlight doctors and helicopterSummary of ActivityIn our laboratory, anatomical pathologists (AP) and clinical pathologists (CP) work with many clinical departments.APs are responsible for pathological diagnoses, which are essential for the clinical diagnoses and treatments that follow. We use up-to-date technology, such as genetic tests, to always provide precise and useful diagnoses. To maintain our level of precision, we have regular meet-ings with the clinical departments. The AP’s role is becoming increasingly important in medical fields.CPs are also critical partners in providing suitable clinical tests, maintaining precision control of the tests, and giving informative advice to clini-cians. For example, CPs in the infection control section try to keep up the quality of the medical service by communicating closely to relevant clinicians. The professional and technical expertise of the APs and CPs in our laboratory, paired with our advanced technology platforms, allow us to pro-vide valuable information to clinicians. Furthermore, we actively conduct research in pathological, genetic, and laboratory fields, among others. Medical doctors as well as technicians are involved in this research. Summary of ActivityOur emergency and critical care center treats diverse diseases in critically ill patients with acute illness, including out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, cardiovascular diseases, shock, sepsis, trauma, or burn. We, emergency and critical care phy-sicians are trained to judge their patient’s severity and urgency grades immedi-ately after emergency room arrival, in ambulance car and helicopter, or on-site. Furthermore, we are also specialized in advanced life support and life-saving technique of critical care.Research subjectLaboratory MedicineEmergency and (Chief: Prof. Hiroshi Imamura)Critical Care MedicineShare the future that anatomical & clinical pathologists cultivate!Save lives. We are the final line of defense in critically ill patients.
