22.07.07
Prof. IWAKIRI Yasuko is a world's leading scientist in hepatic lymphatic vessel research. She has been interacting with specially appointed Prof. OHHASHI Toshio (Department of Innovation of Medical and Health Sciences Research, Shinshu University School of Medicine) for many years. After the invited lecture at the 58th Annual Meeting of The Japan Society of Hepatology held on June 2 and 3, 2022, Prof. IWAKIRI visited Shinshu University and gave a lecture for the 11th International Seminar on June 7, 2022. Prof. OHHASHI served as the moderator for her lecture on hepatic lymphatic system.
It was an extremely novel topic and exciting lecture elucidating the pathophysiology of hepatic fibrosis and encephalopathy from the viewpoint of lymphangiogenesis (Gastroenterology 2021, J Hepatol 2022). More than 40 medical students, graduate students, researchers, and professors, including Prof. SOEJIMA Yuji (Division of Gastroenterological, Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic, Transplantation, and Pediatric Surgery) attended and had active discussion about the hepatic lymphatic system at her seminar.
We will continue to provide opportunities to learn the world's most advanced research and cutting-edge technologies as well as to broaden the basic knowledge of research at Shinshu University School of Medicine.
