The summer competitions of the 66th Toitai were held in August.
"Toitai" is a large-scale sports tournament in which most medical schools from universities in eastern Japan participate. Since 2020, the event has been canceled or held at a reduced scale due to the effects of the new coronavirus infection, but this year it will be held in full for the first time in four years.

The Shinshu Medical Track and Field Club achieved remarkable success at "Toitai", securing the Women's Overall Championship, Women's Championship of Track Events, and awarding Women's Most Valuable Player to SHIMADA Saki, a dedicated 6-year student athlete.

"Toitai," the pinnacle of competition for our Medicine Track and Field Club, was held in Maebashi this year. Despite the challenging mid-August conditions and a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our 24-member strong team persevered and shone. We proudly brought home prizes in 12 different events, with 13 members showcasing their skills and determination.

For our senior members, whose last Toitai was canceled, and our juniors who embraced their first Toitai challenge, this journey was especially meaningful. Throughout the year, we trained tirelessly, fostering bonds not only among long-distance runners but also with our short-distance counterparts. With renewed determination, we entered the competition with the goal of triumphing in three events and shattering two championship records.

Thanks to the unwavering support and dedication of our teammates, we accomplished our goals, and SHIMADA Saki was awarded the coveted MVP title. This experience has been a wellspring of inspiration, serving as a reminder of the importance of resilience and teamwork. We hope that our achievements serve as a source of motivation for future generations of athletes. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our teammates, supporters, and everyone who played a role in this remarkable journey.
