24.01.17
The Faculty of Medicine, Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) and School of Medicine, Shinshu University signed an academic agreement in 2016. So far, 20 TUD students have studied medicine in Shinshu University, and our 12 students conducted basic research and clinical training at TUD. On October 2, 2023, Prof. Henning Morawietz and Ms. Peggy Gierschner, who are in charge of international exchanges in TUD, visited Shinshu University.
President NAKAMURA Soichiro, Vice President YONEKURA Shin-ichi, Prof. OKUYAMA Ryuhei, Dean of the School of Medicine, Prof. HANAOKA Masayuki, Director of Shinshu University Hospital, and many other professors had a frank discussion on future student exchanges and joint research. On October 4, Prof. Morawietz gave a scientific lecture on his research at the 22nd International Seminar. In addition, we were able to reunite with students who studied at TUD and interact with many students who wish to study abroad in the future, which greatly increased the motivation of our students to study abroad.
This courtesy visit added a new page to the history of collaboration between the two schools. We would like to continue to accept students, doctors and researchers from TUD and accelerate joint research.
