At the Board of Directors meeting of the "Sho-ikai", the alumni association of Shinshu University School of Medicine, five fifth-year students who had undergone overseas training reported their learning and experiences.

With the support of the faculty members of the Shinshu University School of Medicine alumni association, Sho-ikai, the "Sho-ikai Overseas Study Scholarship" program, aimed at broadly supporting international exchange activities and overseas study in the School of Medicine, began in December 2021. In September 2023, five fifth-year medical students engaged in a three-month overseas internship, and three of them received the Sho-ikai Overseas Study Scholarship. On January 18, 2024, these five students reported on their return at the Sho-ikai Board of Directors meeting.

　All students presented their research findings in English, and the attending faculty members were highly impressed. Questions were posed by Sho-ikai faculty members, including Chairman KUBO Keishi. Impressions were sought from attending faculty members, and many expressed pride in the accomplishments of their junior colleagues who had worked hard overseas.

　We have effectively utilized the scholarship funds received from Sho-ikai faculty members and aim to provide overseas learning opportunities for even more students. We hope that this will contribute to the long-term internationalization of Shinshu University School of Medicine and the Japanese medical community. We will continue to deepen the exchange between Sho-ikai faculty members and students, creating opportunities to receive advice from seniors. We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support.
