Debriefing Session of Oversea Clinical Clerkship Program in Spring 2024（The 27th&28th International Seminar）

7 fifth-year students participated in the Clinical Clerkship Program conducted at our partner universities abroad for two months from the end of March 2024: 1 at the University of California, Davis in the U.S., 4 at Technische Universit?t Dresden in Germany, 1 at the University of Trieste in Italy, and 1 at Mahidol University in Thailand; 2 out of the 7 students engaged in basic research and 5 received clinical training. All of them returned to Japan safely after learning and growing a lot, although they might have needed to handle challenges of study in another country.

On the 18th and 25th of July 2024, the students shared their study abroad experiences to students and faculty of Shinshu University School of Medicine. They were really encouraged by kind words from Assoc. Prof. MORI Masayuki and Asst. Prof FUJII Chifumi (the Center for Medical Education and Clinical Training), and others. At the end of the seminars, junior students who participated in the seminars had opportunities to talk with the 7 fifth-year students and got firsthand information about international exchange and study abroad, including benefits and necessary preparations, which led to their improved motivation.

I would like the 7 students who gained great experiences in this program to consider going abroad again as a doctor or a researcher in the future to have further experiences and make contributions to the field of medicine with a broad perspective.
