GEC Exchange Student Program

Program Outline

This is a short-term program for students enrolled in our partner university that has an inter-university student exchange agreements. It aims to give an opportunity to study Japanese Language, Japanese affairs and Japanese culture mainly.

Application Eligibility:

Students who are enrolled in one of our partner universities that have student agreements. They can study at Shinshu University for 6 months or 1 year.


  • Program duration:
    One semester or two semesters (one year)
  • Application Schedule:
    For Spring Inbound Students
    Application Guideline comes out: July in the previous year
    Application Deadline: End of October in the previous year
    For Fall Inbound Students
    Application Guideline comes out: January
    Application Deadline: End of April
  • Application Documents:
    Each partner university has to send the following documents to GEC by the above deadline date. (Note: We do not accept direct application from students.)

    1. Nomination Sheet
    2. Exchange Student Program Application Package
    3. Academic Transcript
    4. Evidence of Japanese Language Proficiency(if available)
    5. Copy of Passport
    6. Facial photo
    7. Financial supporter's Certificate of Bank Statement,or Certificate of Scholarship Receipt
