Program Outline
This is a short-term program for students enrolled in our partner university that has an inter-university student exchange agreements. It aims to give an opportunity to study Japanese Language, Japanese affairs and Japanese culture mainly.
Application Eligibility:
Students who are enrolled in one of our partner universities that have student agreements. They can study at Shinshu University for 6 months or 1 year.
- Japanese Language Level:
From beginner to advanced. - Available Courses:
Japanese Course offered by GEC, Japanese Language and Culture subjects offered by GEC
General Studies subjects, Major subjects (Japanese syllabi only)
Classes taken by many exchange student(English website only). - Certificate Requirements:
Students must take at least 10 credits a year (5 credits for one-semester students) to complete the program. - Maximum Enrollment:
20 students/semester (40 students/year) - Program term starts:
Early April / Late September
- Program duration:
One semester or two semesters (one year) - Application Schedule:
For Spring Inbound Students
Application Guideline comes out: July in the previous year
Application Deadline: End of October in the previous year
For Fall Inbound Students
Application Guideline comes out: January
Application Deadline: End of April - Application Documents:
Each partner university has to send the following documents to GEC by the above deadline date. (Note: We do not accept direct application from students.)

- Exchange Student Program Application Package
- Academic Transcript
- Evidence of Japanese Language Proficiency(if available)
- Copy of Passport
- Facial photo
- Financial supporter's Certificate of Bank Statement,or Certificate of Scholarship Receipt
