2014 Professor, Division of Biological and Medical Fibers, Institute for Fiber Engineering, Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research, Shinshu University - Research Field
- Polymer chemistry, Bio-related chemistry, Synthetic chemistry, Polymer/Textile materials
- Research Theme
- The origin of fiber forming function in the biological polymers are referred to as 'motifs' in the primary sequences of the monomer units. One of the major interest of our project is to seek out the chemical and physical properties of the motifs, including silk and underwater adhesive proteins.
- Message
- The Division of Biological and Medical Fibers aims to solve global-scale issues and to contribute to society through the development of renewable resources (biological resources, effective use of waste, recycling) and the development of biomedical materials and medical technologies for the aging society.
