On July 7, a special lecture was held at Shinshu University by Distinguished Visiting Professor Hwa-Yaw TAM from The Hong Kong Polytechnic
University (PolyU). The lecture was hosted by the Shinshu University Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research (ICCER)
Institute for Fiber Engineering (IFES).

Lecture Title: Fiber Bragg Grating Sensing Technologies

Distinguished Visiting Professor Tam discussed fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors, and numerous students as well as outside visitors
from companies came to listen. Everyone in attendance was grateful to Professor Tam for providing such an outstanding lecture.
