On May 27th, 2014, Masato Katoh, Director of the Institute of Mountain Science, Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research visited the Finnish Geodetic Institute (FGI), and attended a ceremony to conclude an inter-university agreement between Shinshu University and FGI, that was signed by Dr. Jarkko Koskinen, Director of FGI.
Juha Hyypp?, Director of the Center of Excellence in Laser Scanning (CoE-LaSR) in FGI which has worldwide respect in the field of 3-dimensional laser sensing, has been invited to the Institute of Mountain Science, Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research, and international symposium “Excellent Laser Scanning Research for Forestry” was held on 20th January (Tuesday). Students of Professor Masato Katoh’s research group gave oral presentation in English on research result from on-ground, UAV, and aircraft regarding specific joint international research activities.
