Professor Katsuya Teshima and Associate Professor Nobuyuki Zettsu (Center for Energy and Environmental Science, Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research, Shinshu University) announced that it has developed a new surface functionalization technique of 5V-spinel cathode enabling high-voltage operations.
Their research journal was published on August 24, 2016, from an online journal, Scientific Reports, run by Nature Publishing Group, UK.
This latest research was carried out as part of "Formation of super-ion conduction path in all-solid-state lithium ion rechargeable battery through design of the crystal phase-interface with hierarchically controlled structures" research project (led by KatsuyaTeshima) under "Creation of Innovative Functional Materials with Advanced Properties by Hyper-nano-space Design " project (headed by Toru Setoyama) of JST-CREST program.
The press conference was held from 1:00 p.m. on August 30 at Shinshu University Ueda Campus. Prof. Teshima and Assoc Prof. Zettsu explained details of the research to the press.
