Professor Sugimoto and the Cetificate in his hand
Professor Wataru Sugimoto, Deputy Director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Science (X-breed), the Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research (ICCER) and professor of materials chemistry in The Department of Textile Science and Technology, was commended by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) for his efforts as a peer reviewer on the 2015 Research Fellowship for Young Scientists Review Board and the International Projects Committee.
Professor Sugimoto was honored for his meaningful contributions for giving opinions provided during JSPS document-based examinations as part of Research Fellowship for Young Scientists and International Exchange Project review sessions.
Professor Sugimoto was recognized for document examination activities based on verifications carried out at the JSPS Research Center for Science Systems following initial review sessions. Among 1,400 inspection committee candidates, he was selected as one of the 130 persons from approximately 700 eligible candidates who are at their second-year as reviewers. Although this screening process is carried out in three stages, the first-stage document-based examinations is the foundations for the rest of the screening process and is thus extremely important.
On September 16, 2016, Shinshu University President Kunihiro Hamada presented Professor Sugimoto a written notification of his recognition and an official certificate of the commendation.
