Udayana University, Indonesia visits the School of Medicine, Shinshu University

On November 25, 2016, the School of Medicine, Shinshu University welcomed Prof. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, MD, PhD (Vice Dean for Academic Affairs), and Desak Made Wihandani, MD, PhD (Head of International Unit) from our partner Udayana University, Bali, Indonesia. Udayana University and Shinshu University signed the agreement of academic cooperation in 2011, and the School of Medicine, Shinshu University has welcomed 22 students from Udayana to our clinical training program (SMW) in the last eight years. The Udayana delegation discussed further student exchanges and potential collaborations with Prof. Eiji Tanaka, Dean of Shinshu University School of Medicine, and the student exchange project team, and also made a courtesy visit to Prof. Kazuhiro Hongo, Director of Shinshu University Hospital. The delegation was introduced to laboratories, clinical departments, and facilities of the Hospital, and gained overviews of our training program and medical education system.
Udayana University was established in 1962, and is one of the leading universities in Indonesia, with 13 faculties, 25 master's programs and 10 doctoral programs. Shinshu University and Udayana University are working together to contribute to our society.
