Admission Policy
Shinshu University Admission Policy
Shinshu University is committed to cultivating an inquisitive mind and a challenging spirit, to equipping students with the ability to explore and solve problems based on a high level of specialized knowledge and deep contemplation, to enriching their humanity and broadening their horizons, to using the knowledge and skills they have acquired to contribute to the sustainable development of human culture and society, and to making use of them for the sake of world peace and the preservation of the natural environment. Our educational goal is to develop young people who are highly motivated and capable of doing so. We seek students who have the basic academic skills completed of the high school level to receive this education.
Subjects to be Completed Before Entering University
It is desirable that the high school students enrolled in the course of study follow the curriculum chart in accordance with the Courses of Study Guidelines, and that they have completed all the subjects and subjects they are required to take and have acquired the appropriate academic skills. In addition, if there is a list of subjects that must be taken in order to understand the content of classes in the department to which the student wishes to apply, it is desirable that the student fully understand the content of those subjects.

Shinshu University Degree Awarding Policy (Diploma Policy)
Based on the philosophy and educational goals of Shinshu University, the University confers degrees in its undergraduate programs per the following policies
Students must have earned standard credits in the educational course established per the educational philosophy of each Faculty, and must have passed the examination determined by the Faculty.

Basic and specialized academic skills appropriate to the title of a bachelor's degree
The ability to collect, understand, and disseminate information accurately
The ability to tackle issues to achieve a sustainable society

Shinshu University Graduate School Degree Awarding Policy (Diploma Policy)
The Graduate School of Shinshu University has established the following policy for awarding degrees to foster high quality, highly specialized professionals with a comprehensive understanding, creative abilities who create a sustainable society and who promote advanced research.
Students in the master's program must have a thorough knowledge from a broad perspective and acquire excellent research skills in their field of specialization or the ability to work in professions that require a high degree of specialization.
Doctor programs require advanced research skills and rich academic knowledge necessary to carry out research activities as an independent researcher in their field of specialty or to engage in other highly specialized work.
Our graduates of professional degree programs have acquired the deepest knowledge and excellent abilities necessary to engage in professions that require a high level of expertise.
