Shinshu University's response to the Novel Coronavirus (May 8, 2023 updated)

In light of the government's decision on April 27, 2023 that the downgrade the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) to Class 5 from May 8, Shinshu University's Novel Coronavirus Infectious Disease Task Force is dissolved, and as of the same date discontinued to issue the further upcoming notices regarding the measures against COVID-19.
The infection control measures against COVID-19 is taken under normal hygiene management led by the University General Health and Safety Center. The COVID-19's classification under the Infectious Diseases Act is shifted to Class 5, the classification for common infectious diseases, however, it does not mean that its virulence has weakened. We ask for your continued cooperation in taking basic infection control measures and act accordingly.

Dear Students,
According to the Regulations for Enforcement of the School Health and Safety Act, COVID-19 is still classified as a disease that could require suspension of attendance.
(1) If you are infected:
Those who have been diagnosed positive through self-testing or at a medical institution are not allowed to attend classes. Please inform through the infectious disease reporting system immediately.

(2) If you have symptoms:
Those who have symptoms (except in the case of 1) are not subject to attendance suspension but should refrain from going out and stay at home to recover. There are cases, however, in which attendance may be suspended. Please be informed of the directions given by the faculty you belong to.
(3) If you become a close contact
You are not subject to suspension of attendance. You may attend classes, but please keep in mind to wear a non-woven mask and to eat meals alone. If there are any directions given by the faculty you belong to, please follow them.
