Collaborative research is being carried out with I’foret Co., Ltd (Bicannes Cosmetics), and Daiwabo Neu Co., Ltd., who are engaged in a wide range of fields from fiber and clothing products to chemical raw materials, to utilize the artificial enzyme phthalocyanine whose function was discovered by Professor Emeritus and Specially Appointed Professor Hirofusa Shirai. The medienzyme obtained by purifying this artificial enzyme for cosmetic use does not permeate through the skin, but the component is active on the surface of the skin, producing moisture and firmness, and preventing wrinkles and freckles caused by dryness or sunburn.

Phthalocyanine is an artificial enzyme that exhibits functions such as deodorant, anti-allergenic function, etc., when applied to fiber or fabric. In particular, by gripping a cloth on which the artificial enzyme has been applied, a great improvement in the rough skin (dermatological contractures) of the palm caused by patients with severe strokes strongly clenching their fists is obtained.

Collaborative research has been carried out with Shinshu University since immediately after the discovery of the functions of the artificial enzyme in 1978. In addition to manufacture of the artificial enzyme industrially, methods of use such as deodorant fibers, masks to absorb allergenic substances, etc., are being considered, and commercialization is proceeding.

Instead of reducing the resistance power of the skin, artificial enzyme brings out its inner power. Its quality has been raised to the level of that of cosmetic enzymes in order that it can be used as a cosmetic to defend the outermost skin, and research is in progress to further enable it to adhere to the skin rather than the fiber or fabric.
