Shinshu Cancer Center and Helicopter Ambulance, Providing Advanced Local Medical Treatment

The University Hospital has been strengthened to function as the “Shinshu Cancer Center” with the objective of further enhancing and providing cancer treatment as the cancer treatment hospital for Nagano prefecture, combining, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and palliative care, as a center for cancer treatment, education, and research for Nagano Prefecture (April 2013).
The Shinshu Helicopter Ambulance Matsumoto has carried out 175 tasks between October 2011 and March 2012, and 460 tasks between April 2012 and March 2013. Also, between April and October 2013 336 tasks have been carried out, 1.3 times the total number for the previous year (April to October), so their accomplishments are steadily increasing.
