On February 26, 2016, Professor Toshio Sakai of the Department of Chemistry & Material Engineering, Faculty of Engineering won the 2015 JSCM Most Accessed Paper Award.

The 2015 JSCM Most Accessed Paper Award is presented to the paper published in the Journal of the Japan Society of Colour Material that was accessed most during the period from January 1 to December 31, 2015.

The paper for which he won this award is as follows: “Colloidal Stability of Emulsifier-free Water-in-Oil Emulsions: Effect of Oil Property” (Volume 87-11, p. 387-392, 2014; co-author: Keita Seo). This paper represents fundamental research to evaluate the colloidal stabilization mechanism of water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion, in which water droplets are dispersed in oil. The findings reported in this paper provide the extremely important insights for formulating water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions.
