Dr. Ikuo Tomioka, assistant professor of Institute for Biomedical sciences, announced the accomplishments of collaborative research with National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry at a press conference

At press conference of Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry on March 24, 2017, Dr. Ikuo Tomioka, an assistant professor of Institute for Biomedical sciences in ICCER, announced that his research team successfully generated a transgenic primate model of neurological degeneration diseases, which recapitulates the human disease process including the accumulation of misfolded proteins and neuronal cell loss, resulting in neurologic symptoms. This study was collaborated with National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry.
