In February 2018, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) published the Status of Industry-Academia Collaboration FY2016, which is based on the yearly survey of Japanese academic institutions aimed to understand the whole context of the implementation status of collaboration with industries. Please see the summary abstract in the leaflet.
◆Surveyed Institutions: National, public, and private universities (including junior colleges), national, public, and private higher professional schools and inter-university research institutions (total of 1,056 institutions).
◆Survey item: Collaborative research projects and contracted research projects with the private sector, therapeutic Trial, creation, protection and exploitation of Intellectual Property, donations, and others.
