Aqua Innovation Center of Shinshu University (SU) is promoting a seawater desalination project as part of the "FY2022 COI Acceleration Support Project." In collaboration with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the membrane module developed by SU is being verified in actual seawater from the Arabian Gulf, which is extremely harsh in water temperature, turbidity, and salinity.
As part of the academic exchange agreement between SWCC and SU, a researcher from SWCC visited our university from November 28 to December 1, 2022, to learn basic theories on membrane technology and research at Aqua Innovation Center.
On Wednesday, November 30, they paid a courtesy visit to SU President Nakamura and Executive Vice President Mukai, and exchanged opinions about the possibilities of future academic exchange between SWCC and SU.
