Shinshu University signs an academic agreement with the University of Glasgow

Shinshu University and University of Glasgow signed an academic agreement on April 21, 2023, at the College of Arts, University of Glasgow, UK.
Shinichi Yonekura, Vice President of Shinshu University (international planning and strategy), Ayako Ono, associate professor (member of the Global Working Committee, Faculty of Education), and Mitsuru Hamano, senior assistant professor (Center for Global Education and Collaboration), visited the University of Glasgow for the signing ceremony which was attended by Professor Jo Gill, Vice-Principal and Head of College of Arts, Professor Konstantinos Kontis, Dean for Global Engagement (External Relation), and Saeko Yazaki, lecturer, College of Arts (Theology and Religious Studies) from University of Glasgow.
University of Glasgow is consistently ranked in the top 100 in THE World University Rankings at 82nd place in 2023, with highly advanced research and education. University of Glasgow offers many study opportunities for international students who count for 41% of total students number and has also established world-wide research cooperations.
Dr. Ayako Ono continued collaborative research with the scholars of University of Glasgow even after receiving a master and doctoral degree in art history from University of Glasgow, and her outcomes have been highly evaluated. In addition to further development of research cooperation by enlarging the researchers’ network, it is expected that the educational cooperation can be promoted by establishing students exchange programs in person and online. It is also expected that the research and educational collaboration can be extended to other fields, including social and natural sciences.
