Gold Medal Win in 7-a-side Unified Soccer at Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023

Tomu Yamamoto, a Skilled Assistant in the Faculty of Engineering at Shinshu University, participated as a player for the representative of Japan’s team, SO Nagano in 7-a-side Unified Soccer at the Special Olympics World Games held in Berlin, Germany, in June 2023, and the team won the Gold Medal.
In this event, a total of 26 sports were conducted. The Unified Soccer, in which Yamamoto participated, involves athletes with intellectual disabilities and people without disabilities called partners playing together on the same team. Wearing the number "10" on the back, Yamamoto played in six matches and contributed to winning the Gold Medal.
