Special Emeritus Professor Morinobu Endo was awarded an honorary doctorate from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL, Bangkok, Thailand), in recognition of his nanoscience and contributions to international conferences organized by KMITL.
The ceremony was held last November at KMITL, where the title was conferred by Mr. Surayud Chulanont, President of the Privy Council, on behalf of HM King of Thailand (upper photos). A commemorative plaque was also presented (bottom photos, with President Komsan Maleesee).
KMITL was established and developed with the cooperation of Japan's ODA and business enterprises, and has contributed widely to higher education with the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering and seven other faculties, as well as the Faculty of Medicine and the KOSEN-KMITL (National Institute of Technology), which was financed by a Japanese yen loan. KMITL has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shinshu University and is expected to further promote academic exchanges.
