On March 21, 2024, a total of 30 EMBA (Executive Master Program of Administration) faculty members and working students from National Chi Nan University visited Shinshu University Matsumoto Campus, Nagano Prefecture, to observe regional development and collaboration case studies.
Shinshu University and National Chi Nan University signed an international academic exchange MoU in 2019, and have continued to exchange views on the themes of regional development and global human resource development in the JTA (Japan-Taiwan Alliance) collaboration platform.
During this visit, the two sides first exchanged opinions on the "Shinshu 100 Year Business Program", a practical recurrent learning program promoted by Shinshu University as part of its efforts to promote regional development. After that, the participants visited the Natural Science Museum and the Central Library at Matsumoto Campus.
In the afternoon, the group moved to Shiojiri City for a case study of cooperation with a local municipal. They exchanged opinions with Mayor Momose, then went for a fieldwork at a winery.
On the following day, March 22, the group visited Nikki Fron Corporation, one of the first local partner companies of the Shinshu 100 Year Business Program, to exchange opinions with President Kasuga, who kindly offered us a factory tour.
Through the case studies, the participants from National Chi Nan University could get useful ideas about how a university can engage with local municipals and industries for sustainable regional development. We will continue to deepen our exchange.
