To contribute to the ultra-aged society by original research in biological sciences and medical research, with the aim of sustainable development
Thanks to monumental effort and support, the Institute for Biomedical Sciences has recently entered a 6-year second stage following its inaugural 5-year first stage. However, the real challenge has just started. By specializing in original research in the life sciences and interdisciplinary activities, we will promote global-oriented discoveries that create profound innovation. We will strive to produce work that is competitive on the international scale in a symbiotic way with humans and their environment. Our ultimate goal is to discover novel principles in new academic areas, and it is my mission to introduce our Japanese institute to the world.
Papers are critical ways of presenting our research achievements; thus, it will be paramount to publish high-impact reports to earn a universal reputation. These aims require funding, secured primarily by Japanese grants-in-aid (KAKENHI) and national project-class grants.
In the realm of education, we are developing researchers with sophisticated professional abilities in basic and applied studies as well as knowledge in interdisciplinary research. We are also producing next-generation leaders with global perspectives by providing international research opportunities at our institute.
Having started with a big dream, the Institute for Biomedical Sciences is making great strides in transmitting and sharing unique valuable research to the world. We are grateful for your continued support.
