A special seminar was held by the Department of Interdisciplinary Genome Sciences and Cell Metabolism of the Institute for Biomedical Sciences (IBS) at the Shinshu University Ina Campus, Japan, on December 12, 2016. Professor of Agriculture and Life Science at Seoul National University and IBS Distinguished Visiting Professor Dr. Jae Yong Han and Lecturer at Singapore University of Technology and Design Dr. Eng Shi Ong were invited as guest speakers.
The event began with an opening address from IBS Vice-Director Dr. Hiroshi Fujii and followed with presentations by Drs. Han and Ong. The IBS’ Assistant Professor Dr. Ikuo Tomioka and Associate Professor Dr. Shigeru Kataoka chaired the sessions. Fifty audience members were on hand to listen and ask questions to the featured speakers. Amidst the friendly atmosphere, IBS Head of the Department of Interdisciplinary Genome Sciences and Cell Metabolism Dr. Shinichi Yonekura concluded the seminar.
